Data Views UI
Data Views provide Flywheel users the ability to create and share custom views of their Flywheel data and metadata. This feature is available via the SDK, and in the UI including an easy-to-use report builder.
The Data Views UI provides a fast, flexible way to create, view, and export user-defined snapshots of project data and or metadata for analysis, reporting, and export. Data views may be used in many ways. For example, researchers may easily view and analyze their subject cohorts and related metadata attributes, aggregate numerical data generated by gears or other algorithms for use in group analysis, or aggregate data from timepoint exams in a longitudinal study to assess changes over time.
Flywheel captures a great deal of metadata and data from imported data sets, processing results, and user-defined metadata and annotations. The Data Views Builder provides a drag and drop editor to simplify creation of data views from any metadata in the database, and from csv, tsv, and json files managed in Flywheel. Saved data views are presented as reports from the project menu. From there, data may be exported to a variety of formats including csv, tsv, or json for use in external applications. Data views are also accessible via Flywheel SDKs as data frames or tabular structures in Python, R, and MATLAB in order to simplify analysis.
Data views are an important suite of tools that will help researchers get more value from their data and metadata in Flywheel. Flywheel will continue to invest in enhancing data views with additional analytic and visualization tools.
