Tim Olsen

Tim is Senior Vice President of Engineering of Flywheel. He brings 20 years of experience in medical imaging informatics from the academic, clinical trial and translational science background. Tim is the original architect and developer of the XNAT platform, now used at hundreds of premier research institutions around the world. He has consulted on many of the world’s leading imaging projects (HCP, DPUK, MSBASE) and continues to make key contributions to the XNAT platform and beyond. He is a leading voice on next-generation medical imaging informatics, with years of experience in data architecture, system federation, imaging data at large scale and GCP software development.

Tim was the CTO of Radiologics Inc, which developed cloud-scaling imaging informatics services for clinical trials and AI-powered patient diagnostics. Radiologics was acquired by Flywheel in 2021. Tim works within Flywheel to integrate the platform with the XNAT community’s resources, provide guidance and direction on product development, FDA Part 11 Compliance, quality systems and general imaging informatics best practices.
