Advancing Neuroimaging and Data Management in Multicenter Studies and Clinical Trials

In this webinar, hear how researchers in a multicenter study have harmonized data from multiple scanner types for the first time ever in large-scale, national study, to find meaningful insights in traumatic brain injury. In this presentation, Dr. Pratik Mukherjee, Neuroimaging Core Leader for the national TRACK-TBI Initiative, describes how he has used Flywheel to give dozens of clinical trial sites the tools to securely capture, standardize and share terabytes of imaging data with collaborators around the country. The team of researchers have gone beyond replacing hard drives; with Flywheel as their core repository, they have applied deep learning methods to:

  • develop an FDA-cleared device that reads blood biomarkers of brain injury in the field
  • quickly detect brain hemorrhage in CT scans to save more lives in the ER
  • develop BIDS-compliant, containerized pipelines to better map the brain connectome
  • build a AI denoising models to drastically reduce the time kids are expected to hold still in a scanner, from 10 minutes to one
